How To Make Your Poems Fly!
We wrote Kennings for ‘air’ and ‘water’, like: ‘Super Hoover’ for a tornado & ‘Stinging Beast’ for a bee. And then… we made those Kennings fly! Filmed by Graham Forde with help from the students of Belper School as part of Summer School 2013. With thanks to Joanne Hawkyard.
The Poetry of Place
Year 6 – Newton Primary, Alfreton, explore their landscape through poetry and story making… By looking at the world with a ‘mental squint’ things seen everyday take on new perspectives. Roads become ‘rivers of steel’, trees reveal their secrets and lampposts are alive!
Part of a ‘poetry and place’ workshop lead by poet Mark Gwynne Jones (http://www.poet2school.org) and media artist Tony Judge (http://www.creativeforum.co.uk/).
